We asked each swimmer a few questions! Take a look to see what our swimmers of the month’s  favorite things are.

What is your favorite event/stroke?

Lana: Backstroke/25 freestyle

Ben: Freestyle

Vivian: 100 Breast 

Sabrina: 100 breaststroke 

Jacob: Backstroke

Amelia: 200 Free 

What is your favorite sports team?

Lana: IU

Ben: N/A

Vivian: IU

Sabrina: Tampa Bay

Favorite swim meet snack?

Lana: Pizza 

Ben: Bananas

What is something you’re looking forward to this swim season?

Lana: Looking Forward to trying new things at practice!

Ben: More swim meets 

Vivian: Home Meet!

Sabrina: Swimming the 50 freestyle again! 

Jacob: Racing 

Amelia: Home meets at my favorite pool!

Lana: Coach Meredith wrote, “Lana is always ready to come to practice and give her best. She walks onto the pool deck with a smile, ready to go. There’s never a practice that brings her down, and she tries anything that is asked of her. I can always count on Lana to listen and to lead her lane. I know she’s going to be a great swimmer one day!

Ben: Coach Andrea wrote, “I chose Ben because he always works hard and never fails to make the team laugh and smile!! He always tries his best at swim meets and drops time every time!!!” 

Vivian: Coach Emma wrote, “Vivian has become such a great swimmer this season! Over the last few months Vivian stepped up and became a leader in the Gold 2 group. She is always ready for a new challenge and looks forward to learning something new or how to correct a stroke. She is the first person to cheer on her teammates, even if she doesn’t know them. Vivian is always offering to help out others and offering to get things for them. Vivian can make anyone laugh and loves to have a good time with the other swimmers.” 

 

Sabrina: Coach Elizabeth wrote, “Sabrina has made AMAZING progress over the course of this season. Scrubs may be the youngest in the group but she doesn’t let that stop her! She is always the first one to get up and cheer on her teammates, ask you how your day was or just to put a smile on your face! If Sabrina is unsure of something we are doing she is quick to ask and she is even quicker to make sure that she is applying any stroke correction given to her! Sabrina’s enthusiasm and genuine love for swimming are a joy!”

 

Jacob: Coach Hannah wrote, “I chose Jacob because of his great sense of humor and willingness to try anything new. Jacob competed in his first prelims/finals meet EVER and made it to finals in multiple events - even dropping time in his 2nd swims. Jacob is a great teammate at practice and loves to make others laugh.”

 

Amelia: Coach Patti wrote, “Ameila has consistently improved over the course of the season. Amelia has become more competitive and confident in meets and at practice. Amelia continues to drop time and ask for new challenges. ”
